Collaborating on a research-driven design strategy, we aligned our vision with the University of Cincinnati's sustainability goals. Our approach proposed leveraging the competitive edge of the athletics program to cultivate a campus-wide culture of sustainability.
Our primary objective is clear: Positioning the University of Cincinnati as the leader in Green Athletics in the Big 12.

UC Athletics recently became part of the Big 12, and is receiving more attention than ever. That's why we believe UC’s growing athletic program is the ideal setting to cultivate a campus-wide culture of sustainability.
GREEN
ATHLETICS

Institutions that leverage the high profile of athletic programs and events to both improve campus sustainability performance and engage the broader community around sustainability challenges and solutions.
INSIGHTS

EDUCATION IS NEEDED
Attendants to these events don’t know how to properly dispose of their waste. Guidance on how to recycle needs to be clear and concise so as to be easily digestible.

RESOURCES ARE LIMITED
The UC Sustainability Team lacks the manpower and funding to accomplish their goals.

VISIBILITY IS LACKING
There is a lack of messaging about what sustainability is and why it's important for UC. Enforcing stricter policies across the university and promoting sustainable behaviors would build a culture of care.
